Local Relic’s Small Brew Saturday

It’s that time again! Beers! Bites! Bob! Bike to all the good things down at the Carter Payne on Saturday, January 24th, from 12-4 pm.

We’ve got the newest barrel-aged brews from Local Relic, paired up against some of the best comfort food Chef Brent can offer. Barrel-aged cuvees and burgers? How about a Japanese Tea Saison with those nachos? Whatever you’re feeling, we’ve got a winning combination to stave off that winter chill!

Local Relic crafts 200 unique beers per year, which means we’re releasing new beers constantly! We’re hosting monthly bottle release parties, where you’ll be able to sample the new brews, get first crack at buying new bottles before they go to wholesale, and hang out for the afternoon and share some beers with friends. Light snacks will be available for purchase, but it’s free to get in the door. Unfortunately, you still have to pay for the beers (unless you’re a Local Relic member, in which case, as always, your first flight is on us!)

Curious about the origins of this quirky celebration? The Emma Crawford Coffin Races began as a Manitou Springs tradition in 1995, honoring Emma Crawford, who was buried atop Red Mountain in 1891. After years of harsh weather, her coffin famously slid down the mountain in 1929, inspiring the annual races that now celebrate her story in Manitou Springs.
