How to start a trip? Scan the QR code located between the handlebars with the PikeRide to start a trip.

What to do with the lock cable while riding? Grab the loop end of the cable and insert it under the seat of the bike while riding.

How do I end a trip? Park your bike at a designated PikeRide hub, publicly accessible bike rack, or post within the service area.  Wrap the cable around the rack or post and insert the loop end into the rear wheel lock, then close the lock by pressing on the orange tab.  Follow the in-app instructions to submit a photo of your properly secured bike.  Photos are best taken from the rear of the bike.

What is the service area? The service area is identifiable in the app and outlined in purple.  Riders may ride outside of the service area, but any bike left outside of the service area will be charged a minimum of a $20 pickup fee.

What is a hub? PikeRide hubs are common parking areas identified in the app with a grey box where you can end your trip for free.  You are more likely to find available bikes at a hub.

What if I need to make a stop someplace and there isn’t a PikeRide hub nearby? You may ride a PikeRide within Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs city limits, but you can only end a trip within the service area.  Trips can be ended for free at a PikeRide designated hub or for $1 at a publicly accessible rack or post inside the service area.

What if I need to make a stop outside of the service area? You can make mid-trips stops (in and out of the service area) by properly securing your bike to a rack or post (don’t end the trip in the app) then return to your bike, unlock it, and continue riding.  Like a cab ride, while you are stopped and your bike is locked, you will continue to accrue time until you return the service area and properly end the trip in the app.

How many bikes can I check out under the same account? A maximum of 4 bikes may be checked out under the same account.  Just be sure to scan them all from the main app home screen and then end all trips from the home screen as well. *When using a 24hr pass it is only valid for one bike at a time, any subsequent bikes checked out while on a 24hr pass accrue standard pay as you go rates.

Where can I end a trip on the Colorado College campus? Due to campus policy trips can only be ended (bikes parked) at designated PikeRide hubs on the Colorado College campus.

How do I check the battery level of bikes? On the home screen of the app, with the map, select a bike to see the battery level.  Riders are responsible for monitoring battery levels while on a trip, which is always visible in the app.

How long can I ride on a full battery? A fully charged bike can travel up to 30 miles, but travel time is impacted by rider’s body weight and the type of terrain traveling on.

What can I carry in the basket? PikeRide baskets can carry loads up to 15lbs.  They are not meant for carrying animals, children, or adults.  Riders are responsible for baskets broken during their trip.

Can I store a bike in my garage, back yard, or other private area while I am using it? No.  Even if you have a 24hr pass PikeRide bikes must always remain publicly accessible.

How old do I have to be to ride? Riders must be 16 or older.
